Acrylic Prints -Being
I identify as what I am. -Andreja Pejic
In my view, it is generally easier to be yourself when society accepts who you are. In contrast, navigating the challenges of being seen as different or outside the norm can be difficult. It takes a lot of strength and courage to stand up against the pressure to fit in.
In this artwork, the shadow of the muscular male represents the individual's mental strength. The monkey cradling her infant symbolizes self-protection and self-love. The pink pearl signifies the individual's third eye, indicating a state of profound enlightenment. This individual is portrayed as being in control of their destiny. The presence of ants has a dual meaning; they reflect the individual's persistence, while also representing how society may perceive such individuals as a nuisance or unwanted presence.
