Framed poster -Big Innergy
Innergy is often defined as an individual's vital energy, encompassing physical, mental, and emotional well-being, as well as their connection to themselves and the surrounding world. It also pertains to the concept of self-healing, an essential process for Black women navigating a society marked by systemic flaws. The title of this work, "Big Innergy," is intended to encapsulate the overarching themes of innergy and the significant energy that emanates from every Black woman. This energy is profound and palpable, often felt by those in the presence of Black women, and is noteworthy even in instances when society fails to grant them the recognition they rightfully deserve.
The artwork features a collaged image of a Black woman, serving not only as a tribute to Black women but also as a representation that spans generations, from the past to the present. The abstract depiction of a walnut, incorporated as an earring, signifies protection while confronting an imperfect societal landscape and embodies elements of regalness and magic. Furthermore, the product label symbolizes Black representation, confidence, and optimism. Collectively, these collaged elements create a visual representation of the extensive innergy that characterizes a Black woman.
